Building the vision

ALBA Aréna

Our task for the construction of the Alba Arena was to capture the engineering marvel created by KÉSZ Metáltech. The steel roof structure was built using the largest mobile crane in the country, which is 60 meters long, and the roof itself weighs as much as 10 elephants. The steel lattice roof spans 60 meters in length and stands 5 meters tall. We were present from the very first lift and followed the progress all the way to the grand opening, where Hungary’s national ice hockey team defeated Norway 2:1. It was an incredible experience to photograph the finished building on three separate occasions – even if sunrise shoots meant waking up at 2:15 a.m. The building was designed by Mihály Balázs and Tamás Attila Tarnóczky.
